Hi everyone! I am so grateful to have found backyard chickens.com. My husband and I are completely new to raising chickens and this site has been invaluable in providing all the information we needed to get started!
Currently, we have our coop and run set up, the only remaining task is to attach the hardware cloth. We have six buff orpington chicks arriving at the end of the month
Our coop is 8x10 and 8 feet tall with a 12x12 run completely covered in 1/2 inch hardware cloth. Still some finishing touches, but were almost there! Instead of using a red heat lamp I bought a brinsea eco brooder for the chicks..
i am so excited to become and active member of this forum! I am 31 this year and hope to have chickens for the next 30 years!
I would love to connect with any other central/northern ontario chicken lovers too to chat and swap ideas!
