(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I am brand new to chickens - I am putting in an order for March chickens

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I am only allowed two, but think three would be better

(3) What breeds do you have?

That is the question... If you could only have two pullets, what breed would they be - I cannot risk a roo. if I only order two!

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Reading everything I could find, it just kept coming up.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Gardening.

! Pleased you joined our community! Wow! It's sad you can only have two! But two is better than zero! You can do some research on the Breeds thread - that might help you look for some characteristics you favor.
Best of luck to you and enjoy your duo of chicks!

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

You might want to consider buying two pullets from a breeder, rather than ordering chicks from a hatchery. There are many breeders that raise fine stock, and you can buy only what you need. Often they will allow you to trade out a chick if you get a cockerel by mistake (I have done this myself). Check your State thread found in the Where are You - Where am I section of the forum for chicken breeders that may be able to help you out.
