We are not completely new to Chickens. We first got chicks (2 Buff Brahmas, 2 Silkies, and 1 Buff Orpinton) about two years ago. We were living in California then, and they started to lay one week before we moved to Alaska.
We have 5 Black Maren laying hens that we bought from a couple this week. Today we received 13 chicks from Healthy Chicks and More. (3 Buff Orpingtons, 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 3 Barred Rock, and 3 Black Austrolorps. We ordered 12 and they included a bonus chick (Auracana)
My sister and niece told me about BYC when they got chicks 3 years ago.
In addition to Chickens, I like to sew and quilt and am learning to can.
