New to chicken keeping this spring. Any tips for Michigan winter provisions for my small flock? They are currently housed in the kids old wooden playhouse, which has been upgraded, retrofitted and insulated for the ladies.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Ah yes, the dreaded winter months are upon us. You're not the only one concerned about keeping the flock safe and warm. I would highly recommend surfing our Learning Center. It has tons of helpful articles and tips on all kinds of things.

Welcome!

As you have already received some great links from Mountain Peeps and Flock Master64 I will just add that I hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
