I wish I knew! She showed up one day.I feed her,and she never left.Now shes eating from my hand,and I pick her up.Shes a great layer.I want to get her a friend soon.

That is one heck of a story!! WONDERFUL!! I bought my first chicks from a local grain store. Not even close to as cool as your story is! Lol

If you posted a photo of her - we might be able to identify the breed- so you could get more hens like her - if you choose to. Chickens are flock animals and generally do best with a buddy or two. Though a single chicken can also make a good house pet and socialize with people instead of poultry. You might also like to visit the "people with house chickens," thread.
