Hello,
I'd just like to say that every time I have had a chicken quandary, this website always comes up with fabulous advice from members who really care; it's great.
I got six hens on July 21st/ 22nd from all over the place- it was quite a mission! I have a silver partridge Pekin, 2 x brahmas, an araucana, a welsummer and a partridge silkie. I estimate that I shall be using this forum quite a lot as I have already had two big chicken dramas since I got them!
I had to take one of them back (the silkie, Patsy) a week after I got her as it turned out to be a cockerel, eek... The new one (Patsy 2) didn't get on so well with the rest when I brought her back after the swap- so now she lives in her own ark, but I think I should get her a friend as she's a bit lonely :S
Also, she arrived with a chest infection (I noticed on her second day with me) and so I had to get antibiotics for all of them and Patsy nearly died... But all are fine now
ANYWAY, I look forward to being part of this brilliant online community!
