I'm Jeni, but my husband calls me Elmyra; I LOVE animals and remind him of Elmyra from Tiny Toons. We bought six chicks from TSC three weeks ago and this is the first time either of us have ever owned chickens so we are learning as we go. I'm kind of like Noah, I need two of everything; hence the reason we have two of each color chicks. He banned me from TSC because I came home with more chicks so we are up to eight. I'm trying to get enough posts so I can post pics of my babies to see what kinds we have. We live on one acre of land so I needed something small, I opted for Bantams.
My wonderful husband is currently building the Taj Mahal of chicken tractors; complete with an automatic chicken door, that he's building himself . We plan on putting it in our fenced in garden for extra protection from the critters. I'm excited about this new endeavor and hope that we end up with some beautiful chickens! I'd really like some silkies or polish chickens; I like the Phyllis Diller look!
We have two dogs, a cat, Eastern Painted Turtle, that I rescued from our driveway (he was the size of a quarter) a cat and our children have three rabbits that they show for 4-H. I'd like to add two dwarf Nigerian goats but he's telling me no. We'll see who wins; i think it will be me!
