Hello from South Dakota

I am pretty new to raising chickens and ducks. Love them all. I do however have a couple questions. I have a pair of Blue Swedish ducks, she layed her first eggs in the water and mud, is this normal? Next question, how do you know if you have fertile eggs or not? Maybe silly questions I don't know! LOL!

I know next to nothing about ducks - so go to "Other backyard poultry ," on byc and you'll find some duck threads - where people should be able to give you intelligent answers.

I know it in not unusual for ducks to lay in the mud. You might check the Ducks section of the Forum for more information.
