We moved to our dream home, on an 80 acre farm built in 1860 about 4 years ago. I live here with my husband and our two teenagers. We started raising baby chicks the very first spring, eventually we added some ducks, rabbits, 2 pot bellied pigs (Ned & Spanky), our great dane (Sophie), bulldog/boxer (Lola), 3 barn cats (Bernard, Big Boy, & Lil' Bill), english lop (cleaverly named Bunny), and lions head (Hoss). This year we decided to only add 6 golden polish chicks and 25 layers only to have quite a few of them die within the first few days. The hatchery, Murray McMurray, replaced all of the chicks plus some now we have 81 babies in the house! We are expecting 6 turkeys, this is our first year, the begining of May!! I am really excited to get some advise along the way, we have never had this many chickens at once before!
