Hi and 
from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. I agree Silkies make great moms. Just put a dish of starter feed out for the babies. It won't hurt mom but you can hang mom's feeder with layer feed up out of reach of the babies if you want to. Good luck and enjoy.
