Hi Everyone!

Excited to be here. Thanks for having me!

I helped raise chickens as a kiddo, now I'm trying my own hand at it. Still consider myself a noob so I'm very open to your advice and feedback.

Current flock situation is: 9 pullets hatched in mid to late May plus a rescue pet rooster of unknown age. He was added in post quarantine about a month and a half ago for guardian duties and breeding. The girls are Buff Orpingtons and the man of the flock if a Buff Crele/Creole Orpington, per the original owner. Still reading up on him to be sure.

What do I like about raising chickens? Well, they are excellent animals full of personality and fun. I got them for practical reasons, but I'm fairly certain I'd keep them even if eggs and meat were not an option. Nothing more charming than seeing them happy, healthy, and enjoying the yard.

Other stuff I do: I'm a fan of bees but don't have the bandwidth to include them on my property. One day I'll get back into it! I'm also an atrocious gardener, but getting a bit decent with specific houseplants than can endure the poor lighting that my home provides. Other than that I work all the time, haha.

I look forward to meeting and learning from you all. I don't have much expertise to share but after a few years maybe I can contribute more! Thanks in advance for listening to my questions and helping me do right by my birds.
