Hi, all! I've actually been lurking for awhile and figure it's time to say hello. Hello! I adopted these hens from my son's classroom (beautiful timing, there!) They were hatched late spring in 2014. My I-think-she's-an Easter Egger gave me five (green) eggs a week until winter set in; the I'm-told-she's-a Sussex just started squatting a couple days ago. In the next couple of years, I want to get a bigger and better coop and 2 more hens, maybe see about getting a permit for more...

Thank you guys for all the shared information! So far, every question I've wanted to ask has already been answered!

Its easter egger. Had one identical shades to yours. She lived 7 years. Her sibling is still with me. She will be 9 this spring. Gentle natured. Had 3 and each one laid different color eggs. meaning, different color then her sister. Olive green , light blue, and tan

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Pretty birds!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. You're birds are definitely Easter Eggers. Our Easter Eggers are my granddaughter's (pictured in my avatar) favorite hens. She loves their colored eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your Easter Eggers.
