(1) Hi, I have had chickens my whole life, but me and my fellow Stanford students got a coop at our co-op last Spring.

(2) We have 6 chickens.

(3) I'm not sure... 1 Black, 3 probably golden buffs, and 3 with 'fros.

(4) My mom suggested I post on BYC.com. Got great resources to help a bullied hen.

(5) Going to Stanford!

(6) Back home we've had chickens/ducks since I was 4.

So glad you could join our community!

If you are wondering what breeds you have, you can post pics in our What Breed and Gender section of the forums for more help....https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

As for bullies, make sure to introduce new birds from behind a cage or wire for several weeks. The see but don't touch method. This helps to reduce aggression when mixing in a month later. Always add extra food and water stations as the original flock is going to want to guard these areas and starve out the new birds.

Always separate injured bird and apply some sort of ointment. Depending on how severe, blu-kote is a wonderful antiseptic to use as it will help to prevent infection and cover the wound so the others don't pick on the injured bird.

For more help you can post this question in our Managing Your Flock section....https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/2/managing-your-flock

Enjoy your flock and welcome to ours!

Welcome to BYC. Wish we could take a crack at what breeds you have - sometimes one or two of the greeters get them all right. Pictures would be nice, hint!
