My husband and I are starting Lillies Of The Valley Farm in Tazewell TN with chickens. We got 12 Australorps chicks a few weeks ago. They are 6 weeks old now. Today we got 8 Sussex. One rooster aND 5 hens that are 1 year old and 2 hems that are 3 months old. We are planning on breeding as well as selling eggs and meat.
Let the adventure begin!

That's really exciting, I just learned that foster farms started out with the wife selling chickens on her husbands land. So I think you are on to something!!!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

I love the fragrance of lilies of the valley,
