Hello all! I hope starting this new thread is ok.
Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself. I've been checking out info from BYC for a couple of years now. Just never made an account before. Name is Shawn Watson as you can see lol. About to be 30 years old and i've had chickens for the past couple of years. I've been around them most of my life as well. I also have goats, cats, 1 dog etc etc lol. Only about 1/3rd of an acre to work with. One day (next year) i'll get more land. I also garden every year as well. I'm far from an expert btw. I also know a thing or 2 about geese and ducks. My parents had geese, my grand parents and aunts had chickens. I only have half a dozen hens, 1 rooster just because lol and 10 chicks at the moment. So i'm not a big scale chicken person. I just collect the eggs if you know what i mean. I have Leghorns, RIR and Barred Rocks. Pretty basic breeds really. Good for egg production. Anyways i just wanted to give a small intro. Thank you BYC and if i do happen to have any questions i'll sure ask!

Thank you,
Shawn Watson

Hello from Duncan BC Canada. I love reading all the information on BYC and learning some new tricks. For about the last 8 years I have been growing my flock and making changes in the barn and brooder house to make my dream chicken housing. My hens run on a large pasture during the day and though there is some loss to birds of prey the roosters do a pretty good job of security. I also have JRT's and an older dachshund. Funny to watch the boss hens chase those terriers away from the daily treats I bring to the barn ( chicken treats).

Welcome to both of you to BYC I know you will enjoy going through all the informative threads, and meeting all the nice people on here!

I live near Stephenville (Erath county) located in North Central Texas, Clovisman. I was born in Houston and have lived all over that area.

Ah yes, I drove through Stephenville last May on my way to Granbury to pick up my bright and shiny new tractor from Red's. I to was born in Houston, but left in 2011 as quickly as I could. I'm in New Braunfels now close to Canyon Lake.
It's good to have ya!

Yeah i moved out of the city (Houston) about 11 years ago myself. Just too many people for me and well i don't like the politics either lol. Granbury is an alright town as well. Stephenville is a bit more laid back since it's further west. Thank you Clovis!
And thank you all for the welcomes!
