Hello everyone,
thumbsup.gif

Up until today did have 5 laying 3 year old hens, One had died this morning in the sleeping bit of coop, then another one just disappears into thin air, midday !!! the other hens left were really spooked hiding in the corner of the pen, so I'm thinking a fox must have had her, so been a happy little family for nearly 3 year then 2 gone in a day !

On a positive note thou , I do have 7 3 week old chicks in the brooder, I'm a teacher and we hatched these at school, 5 girls and 2 boys, and now I'm hooked 6 duck eggs in the incubator as we speak, only just set so fingers crossed.

Well going to research more on your forums and learn more .

Brilliant News , my neighbour brought my hen back on Monday, she had decided to go on a jolly for the weekend, so now wings clips so no more hopping the fence, Oh what a sad person I must have looked when he handed her back I was so excited hugging and kissing the hen like a long lost friend, God knows what my neighbour must have been thinking

I know there are foxes around as neighbours have had theirs wiped out, but mine are kept in a closed enclosure and only have free range daytime while we are in, and a section off garden is fenced off, So I was surprised when she just disappeared!!! Suppose the grass was greener on the other side of the fence!!
