Hello all, I am a new member and have just finished my chicken coop and am ready to pick out some new residents. Our coop is unique in that it is really a treehouse that I had always promised the kids I would build but never got around to it.... I have finally gotten "around to it" but now alas they are 17 and 19 years old, one is in college. Needless to say they are not interested in a treehouse much. So, I thought I would put it to good use and get some fresh eggs out of the deal! Hahaha!. We are in the Los Angeles area and are looking for some young pullets and or hens to get to laying. Any advice or neighbors near us is always appreciated. Regards Kevin &Kim
You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello. They may also be able to help you out with finding some gals to put into the tree house.
BYC does have a Buy, Sell, Trade Forum but you will need to have made at least 20 posts to participate.
I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.
Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.
If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock when they arrive or more of your coop, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
