(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I've had chickens for a long time,.. but I am a brand new duck keeper!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

9 chickens and 3 ducks

(3) What breeds do you have?

Chickens: Rhode Island Red, Buff Orpington, Barred Rock, Black Copper Marans, Ameraucanas
Ducks: Muscovy

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

Definitely the entertainment! Also love the self sustainability.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Gardening, camping, hiking, kayaking, motorcycling, and cooking.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I have a dog and a cat. My pitbull rescue is a great chicken dog. There's one chicken that will even peck at a stick he was chewing on. So I really scored with him! The cat,. well I don't let him near the birds when they are small cause he's a ninja and I don't think that would go well! Besides my small urban farm that I love,. I'm a motorcycle mechanic by day.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

I've been a long time visitor- when researching certain topics the forum would come up. I guess it was these 3 little ducklings I just got. They are so new to me and fun and adorable! (can you tell I'm totally head over heals!) I thought it would be fun to be a part of the community.

Thanks for having me!
