Hey y'all! I wanted to say 'HI' and tell you how happy I am to have found BYC !! My name is Zeruiah and I have raised chickens/ducks/geese/turkeys/pheasants since I was a youngster! So glad to be here and meet everyone!

You would probably laugh if you saw my chicken set-up right now....

We move up 'on the mountain' a year ago... got to gettin' goats and dogs settled, and then I got new chicks... Light Brahms and Aracauna ..... two of my FAVs.... now, a few wooden pallets and a roll of 6' wire and we made do!

This week, I start building a REAL chicken establishment cause I am buying MORE chicks

.... thinking of MORE Aracauna and some Speckled Sussex! I like to keep my chickens 'breed segregated' so that will make 5 separate coops!

I also have geese setting on a clutch of eggs due to hatch in about 2 weeks and a whole passel of ducks.

My next major winged project is to start raising squab (pigeons for folks in the city). They make EXCELLENT meat birds and are easy to keep.

As far as writing for BYC .... I could probably spin a yarn or two !!
