Hello all,
I’ve been on this site for several months now and attribute most of my chicken knowledge to all you helpful people on here, so thanks!
We have a small hobby farm in SE Michigan (Oakland County) and just started our own flock of chickens last March. Right now we have 5 hens and a rooster. Our hens are Gretchen (buff orpington), Dorothy (leghorn), Delilah (black/brown silkie), Betty White (white silkie), and June Bug (silkie-Wyandotte hybrid). Our rooster is a silver laced Wyandotte and his name is Beauregard (aka Bogey) which we rescued from the Michigan Humane Society when we got our hens back in March.
Looking forward to learning a bunch more from this site and also adding my occasional $0.02.
