I just came across this forum whilst googling for a piccie of a Dominique bantam pullet!
I'm a fairly new poultry keeper, having had four Black Rocks since February 2008. I've always had a soft spot for chooks and in the end, managed to persuade Mr Tabs that it really was a great idea to have some of our very own
Bless him, he converted the garden shed we bought into a hen house for the girls and built a run too ~ and this from a man who really, really, really does not like DIY
As well as Mr Tabs and myself, we have 17 1/2 year old twins, Sam and Beverly ~ how clever, I hear you say, a boy and a girl
We also have a rescued greyhound called Amber. She's quite good around the chooks although she isn't averse to taking the odd sly lunge at them if she thinks no one is looking ~ 'tis not done in an effort to attack them, just to ruffle their feathers, then she looks extremely pleased with herself
Looking forward to getting to know you ~ had better warn you now, I think, that I do have a bit of a tendency to ramble at times, so apologies in advance
