Hello my name is Kymarose,

I live in Oregon. The Willamette Valley of Oregon. I am new to this forum, but not new to poultry. We live on 2.5 acres and I have a little hobby of chickens, ducks and geese. Nothing more than a hobby... but love my birds like crazy. They bring so much relaxation and joy/fun to me. I have runners ducks, bantam chickens, a pair of China geese and now Muscovies ducks.

I look forward to being a part of this group... and look forward to your some suggestions.

Hello and Welcome to BYC! Sorry about the ducks you have lost. They are sure attracted to water. You might try posting in the BYC Ducks forum for more duck-specific help https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks and dealing with the broody duck.

My father-in-law always pinioned his geese to keep them at home. I think this is really about the only thing you can do to prevent them from flying off.
