Just getting started with my backyard flock! Really excited to have found this community!

Here's my answers to the questions:

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
- Not technically new to chickens, but this is the first time I have owned them. I used to help out every summer on my uncles farm and he had a lot of Jersey Giants, Brahmas and Easter Eggers. I used to collect the eggs and care for the chickens while I was there.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
- 8
(3) What breeds do you have?
- 2 Partridge Brahmas, 2-Swedish Flower Hens, 2 Cinnamon Queens, 1- Blue Brahma & 1 Easter Egger.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
- The Breeder I bought my chickens from.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
- Music (playing piano and guitar), gardening. Trail riding my ATV, Hiking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
- I have been married 15 years and my wife and I have a 4.5 year old daughter.
- As for pets: 1 German Shepherd, 1-Siberian Husky, 1-Large Breed Mutt, A Double Yellow Headed Amazon Parrot, and 2 Aquariums (a 150 gallon and a 300 gallon with a 32 inch long Butterfly Koi named Ginger.
- Occupation: Auto Merchandising/ Buyer

Hopefully this introduces me to the community and again, I am excited to be here and learn all I can about keeping my Chickens!!!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock and/or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.
