Brand new to the world of chickens as an adult...... was always around them as a child. I have been wanting some for a while now and finally took the plunge!! I have already experienced my first trouble with Chicken Math!!!! LOL Initially, we were getting 2 Gold Comets, 2 RIR, and 2 White Leghorns (6 Total....) ......ended up with 3 Gold Comets, 5 White Leghorns, 2 RIR, and 2 Black Sex Linked (in case you can't do REGULAR math, that's 12!!!.... double the original intent!! .....lol) The first three Leghorns are from a straight-run batch, so any roosters will end up living with my friend who has 5 acres of free-range and LOTS of hens. Otherwise, they're all mine!! Good thing I haven't started building the coop and run yet! Now, it will have to be much bigger! (plus, with the chicken math, I guess I should plan for extras!!) LOL Hopefully my neighbors will enjoy them as much as me!!
