My friends call me Krikett. I moved to Utah from San Diego, California. I never thought that I would have chickens or ducks, however; I now have eight chickens, two Muscovies , one Swedish blue and three goslings that are a week old. Super exciting.

Always looking for advice and understanding and hopefully one day, I will understand enough to contribute back.

Welcome to BYC, Krikett. Glad you decided join our flock. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chickens do you have?

Hi :welcome Krikett

Glad you could join the flock! I too never thought I would have chickens I was bird phobic utterly convinced they would peck and scratch my eyes out. A couple of incidents with some guard geese that chased me when I was a kid too did not help either. But how wrong was I for all those years. Totally love keeping chickens now and it has become quite an addictive hobby and something I enjoy very much.
The learning centre has some great articles on all aspects of poultry keeping certainly worth checking out https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow

I didn't think that I would ever have chickens, either! But I'm so glad that I finally have some now. I've never raised ducks or geese before, but have always wanted to raise some of them, too.

Sounds like you have a lovely flock! Muscovies are my favorite breed of duck.

Hope you enjoy BYC as much as we have! Good luck with your flock.
