Hi, my name is Kimber and our family welcomed 5 new members yesterday: Mrs. Feather (Buff Orpington), Mr. Peckworth (Andalusian), Hawkeye (Ameraucana), Tribble (Barred Rock) and Spare (Welsummer).

We are very excited to start this new chicken adventure.

The girls (yes they are all girls, even Mr. Peckworth, my 8 year old doesn't care) are currently living in our extra bathroom in a nice, extra large bathtub that my husband set-up with a liner for litter and heat lamp. They are eating and drinking like champs and I love all the happy-sounding chirping they make. As soon as they are old enough, we are going to move them to their coop so they can get into the garden and start getting their chicken on.

I did notice that Mrs. Feather was starting to get a little pasty butt happening, but after searching BYC for advice, I had her butt poop-free in no time. She was very patient with me and looked at me with "I know you're helping me out" stoicism.

I am going to spend a lot of my time reading and studying on BYC - I want to do right by my girls!

So, anyway, hello again. I'm glad to be here.

Anybody else here located in San Diego County?

Have a cluck-cluck day!

Kimber
