I'm new to chickens, but am learning fast. Thanks mostly to Back Yard Chickens and the internet. I have nine chickens right now four are five months old and the other five are four months old. The older ones consist of two Buff Orpingtons, one Barred Rock, and one Americana. The younger five are Rhoade Island Reds and how we ended up with five is a story in it self. The older four are by far the friendliest though we are working on the Reds. They have free reigns of the back yard when I'm home and I enjoy watching my Chicken TV at night.
