Hello from Washington County MD

Hi folks,

This forum was recommended to me. I would like to get a few hens for my family, but my town (Keedysville) currently doesn't allow chickens within city limits. I would like to get the ordinance changed and an informal Facebook poll seems to suggest that there is support among some residents. I know that the next town over - Boonsboro - recently had their ordinance changed. By any chance, are there any Boonsboro folks on here that can lend me a hand?

Byc has over 300,000 members world wide but, very few of them actually read the new member posts. You will do much better if you post on your state thread. You can find it at "where am I, where are you," in the social forum. You might also ask if the Boonsboro chickeners would give you help or advice on changing your town's laws.

Good luck getting your ordinance changed. You might try talking to a few of your neighbors, if they like the idea, they may be willing to add some support to your efforts.
