Just getting started with chickens. I have 9 Barred Rocks and just aquired a beautiful old fashioned Rhode Island Red, he's about 5 months and just starting to crow. 8 of the Rocks are the same age and one 2 year old hen. She is a laying machine! Even in this heat she hasn't missed a day. Hubby converted a portion of the storage area in my green house to a coop and we have the run sorta up and going. Got the netting for the top today. Right now it's tarped. Will post pics when finished. I'm no longer able to work after running a business for 20 plus years. I'm really enjoying these critters
