Hi all-
Happy to be here. I live in the Pioneer Valley area of Massachusetts, and have been raising chickens for 3 years, after a stint of babysitting a friend's flock got me hooked.
I spent the first 2 years with RIRs and Speckled Sussex, but now I have a flock of Salmon Faverolles, which I adore, and can't imagine raising any other breed. I currently have 1 rooster, 4 hens, and 5 month-old chicks. (broody mama and chick #1 in my profile pic.) They mostly free range, unless the hawks/eagles are about, then we try to get them to stay in their yard. We are so happy with them.
