I've been a lurker for over a year, and finally decided it was time to register and join in on all the fun and fabulous advice here at BYC!

A little bit about myself and my 9 year old daughter, who is the true "chicken whisperer" of the family :)

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We have been chicken owners for well over a year now, starting our flock back in the spring of 2017.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently are owned by 74 feathered family members!

(3) What breeds do you have?
I am pretty sure my daughter is an official "collector". We call it our "Clucket List"! We have Buff Orpingtons, Lavender Orpingtons, Old English Game bantams, Mille Fleur Belgian D'Uccles, Salmon Favorelles, Amberlinks, Silkies, Buff Brahmas, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Gold Laced Wyandottes, Rhode Island Reds, Black Stars, Light Brahamas, Sapphire Gems, Asian Blacks, Barred Rocks, Asian Blues, Brown Leghorn, White Leghorn, Frizzle Cochin, multiple Polish varieties, Appenzeller Spitzhauben, Calico Cochin, Polish Frizzle, Ayam Cemanis, Easter Eggers and a Silkie/Maran X.... I think I got them all!

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Every time I "google" advice, BYC is usually at the top of the results!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am a blogger, woodworker and love my vinyl cutter for unique stencil designs I paint onto wood. I also work daily with my daughter on her ABA/APA YEPA program and dreams of being the 1st New Yorker to complete the program.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am mom to 3 boys aged 22, 19 and 17, as well as our resident "chicken whisperer" daughter who is 9. In addition to our flocks, we have 2 Holland Lop rabbits, 1 Mini Lop Rabbit, 4 Nigerian Dwarf Goats and 1 huge 15 yr old cat at has seen it all and ignores it all.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I've known about BYC for years now, through my blogging and marketing. I have been meaning to join for well over a year, but was always on a mobile device and dislike signing up for things on my phone. Finally sat my butt down in my office tonight to sign up on a desktop! LOL

Hi! I’m in WNY too, in Clarance Center. Nice variety of birds- did you get them locally, or mail order?? I’m looking to expand the flock in the spring but most of the local breeders I’ve come across don’t have many of the birds you listed. How about your ayams- where are they from, and how did they do over this past crazy cold winter?

We are in Kendall :) Many are local and others from Poultry shows we attended throughout the state. We did order online, but only 3 survived the winter delivery. Our goal is to start breeding come spring, so maybe we will have something you are interested in!

We actually just got our 4 Ayam's last week - they are only 2 weeks old and we ironically got them from Clarence LOL If I can figure out how to private message you, I will let you know the name of the lady who sells them there. I took her last 4, but she may be doing another incubation.
