Hi. My name is Cheyenne. My dad used to have chickens when I was younger & I always wanted them for myself. Just 3 years ago, I moved out (waaay out) to the country and decided to have my own little farm.
I'm an RN, married, with 2 kids. We have a doberman: Nori, 2 cats: Shadow & Cassie, 2 horses: Ashe & Foxy, and currently 6 chickens: Blackie, Dovie, Goldie, Gypsy, Phoenix, and Burgundy (wheezie.)
I found this site when I was looking for info on hatching eggs. We recently lost 10 chickens to a predator. The predator issue has been solved for now, but we lost our beautiful SLW roo, Betty. I tried to hatch some eggs that were his - only 1 live chick so far. I heard some peepin' from another egg this am, but nothing since.
My neighbor up the road lost all his chickens, though, so I still consider myself lucky.
In loving memory of Betty, Hauke, Roadrunner, Duchess, Red, Merlot, Goldhen, Pretty, Fesent, and Hedwig.
