Hiya everyone 
This is a great site for information both me and my wife have been using it for some time now.
Well im from WNY as i stated up top
and i recently took over the homestead farm from my dad who passed away a lil over a year ago. Long story short it was originally my grandfathers which my dad took over when grand pappy passed and now i took it over when dad passed. When grandpa had it he owned (gimmie a sec it was a long time ago lol) i wanna say he hadaround 36 milking cows 5 pigs and some sheep and chickens on the farm (like in the 80's) it when i was a lil terror running around in barn boots and a diaper 
when grandpa passed dad sold the herd and made the barn into a garage. Now that dad passed im turning it back into a garage/farm heh although im not going big, just sumpin my and my wife and kids can handle.
Currently we have 30 chickens, 4 fat cows (Gingy BULL, Tub Tub BULL, Coal STEERED BULL and Mama THE SISTER) 2 fat pitbulls ones 80 + pounds the other at least 120
2 lil chickies and more on the way!!
The homestead is definitely a fixer upper we got alot of work ahead of us, but im on a few different homestead sites and sites like these that greatly help
really we dont have many other hobbies except working on the home and farm.... OH and we also homeschool our 2 children (the wife does most of it but i do help from time to time i teach about the farm more like a technology class heh)
