Hello everyone! I'm Brittany and I'm from WV. We are about 2 years into our little mini farm and it's been an adventure to say the least.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I was farm and feed manager at Rural King so chickens were my thing lol.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
15ish including the turkeys.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, Brown Laced Wyndottes, Cinnamon Queens, Black Sex Links, and some very mellow white turkeys.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I was googling trying to figure out what was going on with my turkey.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We have our own business and kids they take up a lot of my time lol. But I do love my garden.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 3 boys plus 1 on the way. I tend to take in every animal I see that needs help whether or not I really need them. Which is how I ended up with an "attack" rooster. I have chickens, turkeys, goats, ducks, hogs, rabbits, dogs, a cat, two lizards, and one Tennessee Fainting Goat that I bottle fed who thinks he is also a dog. We are currently working to put in cattle fields but trying to find a farm hand seems impossible. We are currently also building a road to land we have owned for 4 years due to finally getting our right of easement after a long battle. It's our dream to live on our land as well as off of our land.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I just found it today lol
