Hello everyone!

My name is Kay Kay and I just recently started trying to incubate my first eggs! During my research online about chickens and ducks... I kept coming across BYC and have basically been lurking around ever since. From what I've seen in the threads, everyone here seems so nice!

Hopefully I'll be able to make some friends on here and learn some stuff from people who are willing to teach me anything they know!

Unfortunately I do have a huge infatuation with emoticons, so I apologize in advance if my excessive use bothers anyone.

By the way, do any of you girls/guys know of any hatcheries or breeders in Southern California that sells fertile duck eggs? More specifically White Golden Layers eggs? Or Buff Orpington eggs? I've scoured the internet and checked around the feed stores nearby but apparently they typically do not carry duck eggs. Blacksmith's in Bellflower said they have them sometimes but every time I call to check, some greedy egg snatcher apparently "bought all of our eggs", according to the store.

I really hope there's someone around who might have some they can spare near me!!

Hello and welcome to BYC :frow  Here's a great article on incubation and hatching:

For duck eggs, I'd suggest ask in the duck section if anyone there knows of a breeder that can help you:

Thank you so much!

Greetings from Kansas, Kay Kay, and :welcome !  Pleased you joined us!  I know there is a major waterfowl hatchery in California - unsure of what all they sell.  Below is a link to their website.  Good luck to you!

:) thank you! They are a bit too far from Southern California though!

:D

:D thank you!

I just got my chicks from Chickens Galore in Norco. Russel was a great help. It was a very comfortable place and we were put at ease with the purchase.I don't think he has ducks but he may know someone in the area that does.

I am in Yorba Linda as well!

We just got 4 chicks and will probably get a couple more in the coming weeks.

Hi There. I got my chicks from Pomona Feed and Seed.
I hear they have baby geese right now so they might know of a hatchery or someone who has ducks???
Best of luck.
