hi guys! i have a incubator and putes some fertile eggs before 23 days but i dont see any sign of movement except day 18th the four eggs were shaking and rolling. now its almost end of day thirteen but dont see any sign of movement. couple of days before i think that was 19th day the thunderstorm hit the city and hard rain and electricity shuted off for few hours. i have not a uninterupted power supply system thats why i puted some bottle of boiled water in incubator to maintain the temperature. temperature slightly lowered the recommended setting. so guys should i wait further or quit?

I'm hoping I understand. It is day 23 and nothing has hatched? There was a power outage for two hours? You put a bottle of hot water in the incubator to keep the temperature from going lower?

A couple hour with your incubator not heating on day 19 should not have killed the eggs. Wait a couple days but I suspect the eggs are DIS. Have you candled the eggs?

yes i candled the chicks are not moving but about one hour before i kept eyes about 1 hour it seems just light movement of eggs.
I am going to write your post over. Tell me if I do it incorrectly.

"Yes, I candled the eggs and there was no movement. An hour before this there has been slight movement."

Was there any internal pipping or external pipping?

If there is no pipping I'd carefully make a hole on the rounded end and take a look. If the membrane is breaking down the chick has died. If the membrane is milky white with thick veins visible the embryo is alive and should be returned to the incubator.

23/24th day-More than likely the chicks have died in the shell. The power shortage may has caused a change in the humidity causing the membrane to become such that the chicks were unable to break out.

i did that what you said before half an hour, i saw no movement and all 4 chicks has died and four were malpositioned. i dont know what is the reason of that? tell me please.
Reason for DIS(dead in the shell): Incorrect temperature, incorrect humidity, weak embryos from poor breeding stock. Reason for malpositioning: Not turned enough during incubation, genetic (poor breeding stock),too low humidity.

Any of these reasons could be the cause. Check your thermometer to be sure it reads the right temperature. Check your humidity. Try a different source of eggs.

Most often when I have this problem it is a matter of incorrect humidity. The membrane dries out or get sticky making it impossible for the chick to turn in the egg to hatch. A dry membrane can even prevent internal pipping.

yeah you are perfectly right man. because i dont have an hygrometer and dont calculate the humidity i thought that is not necessary too much. now i will buy it tommorow or saturday because i still have the 5 eggs remaining in the incubator of java rooster breed. lol
