(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am a first time chicken mama. My gals are 2.5 months old (hatched in mid March 2021)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
3. I wish the city let me have more!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Two black sexlinks and one Rhode Island Red.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
My gals are hilarious to watch and hang out with.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, reading, video games. I’m also trying to learn machine sewing.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband and I live in Boise, ID. We moved here form Atlanta, GA last year.I’m a data scientist in my day job, but I was an astronomer for a long time (I have my PhD in astronomy). I have four cats and a dog. Hopefully someday soon I’ll be a human mama too!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
My friends mom told me y’all are great at answering questions. I’m scared for my RIR who is walking funny, so I made an account to get some help I hope.
