If planning on getting chicken, time to start working on the coop now! Welcome to BYC BTW! Zero in on the breeds you want as well. You pretty much need to have the brooder set up and ready the moment you order those day old chicks(if going that route). Also, it is getting to mid to late season already for ordering chicks. It is best to have them fully feathered out and at least 2 months old before the first frost date. I have included a pdf file on differing chicken breeds for you to read since you have yet to get yer chicken!
