Hi there! My name is Katie, I've been using BYC as a resource throughout the whole process of building my coop and getting my hens/chicks. Now that all my girls have settled in, I have time to post! I'm 16 years old and in one of my classes at school we hatched and raised some broilers- that was my motivation to get chickens. I now have 4 hens who are all laying. I also bought three chicks(Hoping they are all hens) I will probably get some more chicks soon. Every one of my chickens is a different breed. Among the older hens, I have a Buff Orpington named Lorraine, a Barred Rock named Mabel, a Black Cochin named Jetta and a Red Laced Wyandott named Heidi. My chicks are not yet named because I am not sure if they are male or female but I have a Silver Wyandott, a Buff Cochin and a Frizzle.

Hi Katie! It is nice to meet you! All those chickens and little chicks look so cute! I always enjoy naming our chickens.
