Hello everyone! I have been reading things on BYC for a while, and finally joined because I needed help with the health of one of my pullets.
I have been raising chickens for over 6 years. My first flock was 9 RIRs and 3 Barred Plymouth Rocks. Since then I have owned many different breeds. I now have three flocks. My older flock has 13 hens and 1 rooster from the ages 1-3 years. The breeds are:
White Plymouth Rock (rooster)
Easter Eggers
Delaware
Speckled Sussexs
Cuckoo Marans
Buff Orpington
Barred Plymouth Rock
Golden Comets
The other flock I have are 22 pullets that are almost 3 months old. The breeds in this flock are:
Light Brahmas
Austra Whites
New Hampshire Reds
Buckeyes
My final flock is small, with 5 pullets. I hatched one chick (Jamie) in an incubator (it was my first time) and then went to the feed store and bought her 4 friends. Jamie is 7 weeks and the others 5-6 weeks. The breeds are:
Golden Comets
Barred Plymouth Rocks
White Plymouth Rock/Cuckoo Maran
I really enjoy raising chickens, and love my dog, who is half Beagle and half Cocker Spaniel.
