I'm motivated to learn more about chickens. We raise pinto ponies and have land. I only have 4 chicks that are 6 weeks old. I can't find what breed this one pictures is descended from. I think it's a miniature of a large breed. Curly feathers. Thx show pony.

Hi @show pony , welcome to BYC!

Nice of the grandkids to get you into chickens, lol, are they helping out with them? Kids can learn a lot from raising animals. I hope all of you are enjoying it.

In case you haven't seen it yet, there are a lot of good articles in the Learning Center that may be of interest to you:

You can find other horse lovers under the Other Livestock forum too:

Good luck to you and the grands!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! How nice of your Grandchildren to get you into chicken keeping ;) Curly feathers would certainly point me towards it being a frizzle. I have frizzles of the polish variety. The frizzle feathers just add that something a bit different to them. Hope are able to post some pics so other members can help you ID them.

Wishing you the very best of luck with your new adventure, enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow
