Hello, All! I found BYC some years ago and enjoyed a welcoming community which helped me as a newbie to learn about all-things-chicken. (I had rescued only one chicken.) I'm happy to be back, and still consider myself a newbie, learning as I go. I'm now in Arkansas with space for a small flock. Right now I have three Royal Purple Guinea Fowl and two Cayuga Ducks. I can tell I have male & female Cayuga Ducks, but don't know the sexes of my three Guineas. Can anyone help me out with that? Also, I supposedly received Royal Purple Guinea's last March, but I see only some slightly purple feathers. Can anyone tell me when they become the royal purple color? I still love the little goofs, but had hoped to see some royal purple feathers. I am feeding them all-flock scratch from Tractor Supply, but they do not seem as interested in this feed as they did with the pellets I used after the all-flock crumbles. Any advice about any or all of this would be greatly appreciated. It's good to be back. Thank you in advance!
