Hello Everyone!
I joined because I have a lot to learn about when it comes to raising chickens and have a feeling you all can help with that! A little bit about me, I am a stay at home wife and soon to be mama
my husband and I got married last June and own our home on not quite an acre of land but we have homesteading in our hearts so we are filling our backyard up! We have a 8 month old kitten, 11 Rhode Island Red hens (and a rooster by mistake, we're going to find a new home for him), and a baby on the way, we are very blessed by God! I love homesteading, I have a Little House on the Prairie spirit, and I had a plan to make our large vegetable garden happen this year but with the chickens and a new baby we are putting that on hold until next year. We got our girls when they were just a few days old and just got them outside in their coop a few weeks ago, we have had them for about 3 months. The first thing I'm going to be researching on here is what I can feed them from our scrapes, and what they'll enjoy as a treat! Looking forward to learning more and collecting fresh brown eggs in a few months!
