I am a newcomer to chicken's. I obtain my 1st brood back in March of 2019. I raised them to about 2 months before they were all killed by my dogs. I learned that I needed a better and more secure chicken coup. I obtained my 2nd brood in June 2019, which I am now sitting with right now.

I have 13 chickens consisting of black Australorp, black and white Jersey giants, Delaware's, Laced Wyandottes, Welsummer's, and an Americ

My favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens are their companionship and their eggs.

Some of my other hobbies are crocheting, aquaponics, and paint by numbers.

I am a divorced mother of 4 children who are all adults. I have one grandchild. I have 2 cats and 3 dogs. I am a elementary school teacher in an urban city setting who is looking to transitioning into homesteading.

I came across BYC while surfing the Internet about backyard chickens and also through a magazine that I obtained at the tractor supply store. It gave me valuable information so I decided to join the forum.

:welcome It’s great to have you here! Your birds are lovely. We hope you find homesteading as beneficial as we do.
Did you know there are mini cows? You can have fresh milk and cream on the premises! Of course goats are cuter in my opinion. All milk doesn’t taste the same, so be sure to taste mom’s before buying kids.
