. I don't own Chickens but that seems like an awful lot of birds for that area. What breeds did you have in mind?

Well i hope to end up with twenty or less but i had 2 Brahma hens 1 roo given to me and 2 black hens i cant identify. i bought 5 white leghorns, 3 Welsumers, 2 Rode Island reds, 1 Easter egger, 4 Plymouth barred rocks, and have a friend hatching out 6 Black Copper Marrans

I made nice nesting boxes and also put a covered kitty litter box in my coop and lol - most of my 14 hens use the one kitty litter box to lay in. It's not big but, I often find more than one hen in there at a time and they are totally happy to share. They seem to like comunity nesting.

That is the size of my coop, but my run is about 10x16. I currently have 15 hens and soon will have another 8 hens and a roo joining them (they are currently only 5 1/2 weeks old, so a little longer before they can join the big girls) I have 8 nest boxes and it's plenty. Normally I find the majority of eggs in only one nest with a couple that have been laid in other nests. So with your number of hens, I would say you'd need only about 8, maybe 10 just to account for chicken math....

Thanks i was also wondering if my coop was a little small but now im not worried about it, and like i said i should end up with less as i have a couple freinds thinking of getting some chickens of their own, so i offerd to give them some of mine.
