(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Very new - just got two pullets (about 3 mos. old) last Tuesday. So, my husband and I are about a week and two days in. We've been wanting to do this for years and now that we're quarantined, it just seemed like the right time. Chickens are for pets and eggs.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Two - right now. Learning as we go and hope to have more in the future.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Rhode Island Reds
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching them is so entertaining and calming. They are so funny. We're learning so much everyday which is my favorite part right now.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, travel, movies, cooking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband Chris and I have two dogs, and now the chickens. He's in IT and I work in Insurance.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Found y'all online when I was researching sites that offered helpful tips and advice for raising backyard chickens.
