Hi all! We are new to this whole chicken thing. We have 6 Golden Sexlinks that are about 3 & 1/2 weeks old. 1 Americana, 1 Easter egg layer - about a week old. 2 silkies that are about a day old.

My oldest son is in FFA at his school so this is a family project. I admit that I always wanted to have my own chickens though, I love fresh eggs!

Our chickens are currently in bins in the house right now. The older ones spend time in our new coop out back during the day with supervised yard time.
We are working on introducing the 4 younger ones to the older chicks slowly.

I'm very happy to be a part of Back Yard Chickens and we are looking forward to chatting with you all. :)
