I thought I might introduce myself. My name is Kathy and I have a few chickens. I currently have 4 Blue Copper Marans babies, a Lavender EE? and three Ameracaunas. Im getting back into chickens after a couple years off due to divorce and getting back on my feet. I have a little chicken knowledge, but I definitely have alot more to learn. I love this forum!! I am already a BYC addict. lol

You have picked some very nice breeds and I can see some beautiful, coloured eggs in your future :) Have a look at our Learning Center here. There is a lot of great info there. Enjoy your flock!
 
Thanks so much! I have always wanted Marans, but I had not been able to find anything other than hatchery Cuckoos, and that really wasn't the color I wanted. I finally found some blue coppers from a relatively local breeder. My babies are still young, so Im not sure of the quality yet. I did snatch up a lavender or splash EE from him as well. I will likely let her hang out in the Marans pen as I don't want to put her in with my Ameracaunas. I found my trio of Ameracaunas from a BYC member that was local.
 
Thanks so much! I have always been a chicken addict, but the divorce forced me to sell all my birds. Now that Im finally back on my feet, Im thrilled to have chickens again.

Yes I do have horses! 2 Clydesdales, 2 Thoroughbreds, 1 Tennessee Walker, and 1 Quarter Horse! And what's not to love about them!
