I had my first flock around 50 years ago. I went into the army so I had to give up my birds. I did eventually get more birds. I raise pure (heritage) breeds. Originally my birds were hatchery birds but I decided I wanted to raise some pure breeds. Now I show my birds at poultry shows. I got my original pure stock through breeders I met at shows. We made arrangements for me to get some breeders at another show. I love my birds and have no regrets. Good luck with you endeavor and have fun...
