Just introducing myself. Would love to begin making chickens comfortable with kids so they are less skid dish about petting. Any tips? Do eggs taste different depending on what you feed? Read in BYC message board that chickens eat just about anything, is there anything you advise against feeding?

Any thought on what breed we have?

I feed mine raw salmon eggs some times.People told me there eggs would taste like fish,they don't. There eggs taste fresh and clean.So nummy!!

Glad you joined us! Treats, like mealworms, would help a lot with taming them. I have yet to meet a chicken that can resist a mealworm. Offer them threats when you visit them, but not too much at a time, and they will soon start associating you with good things. On the breeds I'd suggest posting pics in the What Breed Or Gender is This? section. Enjoy the site!
